University Air Training Corps1

In 1942, under the authority of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), McGill University established the University Air Training Corps (UATC). Initially, 44 students enrolled in the UATC. Less than a year later, the number enrolled reached 300 members. After nearly two years of existence, the UATC was dissolved. Several cadets were transferred directly to the RCAF, while others joined the COTC.
